It's been a while-family update

I know it has been a while since my last post, but again I say life happens! I think I have been the busiest since I came back from my little trip to the mountains at the end of June, I had a toothache that turned into a root canal and who knew that I would be afraid of the little dentist...thank heaven for a little diazepam to calm the nerves for the 2nd visit! Work has been super crazy, I worked extra days a couple of weeks, I have been so behind with my household chores, I have spent the last 2 weeks catching up...just to get behind again! Cheerleading is gearing up again as always that will keep me busy, the good news is I am not the team mom this year so no making goody bags! I am so thrilled! This past weekend we took a quick trip to the beach and did a college visit for Miranda, you know she is going to be a senior this year with no idea of where she wants to go to school...well let me correct myself, she wants to go to Clemson, but we just can't do the out of state tuition...so we are trying to help her make an in state choice. We visited Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah. On first glance the school is not m
uch to look at but once we went through the campus and saw everything, it seems like a great little place I just hope that Miranda can see herself going there...time will tell! Here are a few pictures from the beach to share, I do have some new projects but have not had the time to take photos of them yet, soon I promise. Unfortunately my camera battery went dead while at the beach so the only photo I got of Dan was from dinner and it was a little silly to say the least! Oh well!

Fathers Day

I know I am a couple days late sharing my cards that I made for Fathers Day, but better later then never!!! As always I am always too busy and just do some things last minute and these cards were no exception...I made them the day of Fathers Day! The first card I took inspiration from a fellow blogger. I did a search on cards and this is what I copied. From Christi, I just randomly found her blog and really like what she did so I went about creating my own version. Thanks Christi for the inspiration! On the blue card when you open the card the sentiment on the inside says "you rock!" My hubby's dad plays guitar so I thought this was a perfect card just for him! I loved using some of my scraps and older stash to make this card! Super fun and easy!
I am off to work this morning, got an early meeting and a long day ahead! Of course I am 24 hours away from my vacation beginning and I am so thrilled, I so need a week off!

Girls Night Out

This is the theme for my monthly card swap group for next month...Girls Night Out! So many possibilities! I am so excited about this theme and had tons of ideas floating around in my head. Here are the 5 designs I came up with, but decided I was only going to do 2 cards, usually it is just one, but I just couldn't make up my mind so I went with 2. See if you can pick out which 2 I am reproducing for my ladies in my card swap group.

The card above is showing the bra and panties is actually only one card, the bra is the front and the panties are on the inside...so if you guessed that one then you picked right! Also I am doing the corset one. They are just so girly and fun! I couldn't resist making these cards. They would be make a great invitation for a girls night out!

Can you believe 2 days in a row I am posting on my blog! Shocking I know, but it must be done! I need to get back into and I made a promised that I was going to be a better blogger this year, some weeks I am and other weeks I fall of the face of the earth. But hey, I am trying!!! Wish me luck for tomorrow, hoping my work schedule doesn't get in the way of me posting!

Think Beach....

So I am finally posting a new something! I have not had the time lately to devote to posting every day, but I really want to, things just get in the way. I am finally posting about my card I made for my group of card swap ladies...it was my turn to host it at my house so I was super excited! I picked summer or beach as my theme. I have had my eye on this stamp for about 6 months and couldn't wait to make the cards! I think they are some of my very favorites I have ever made...

Since I was the hostess for June I planned dinner and drinks, I made a yummy Mexican Chicken Casserole and to drink we had blueberry pomegranite martini's. They are so delicious! After dinner I had planned a make n take. A flip flop album, usuing actual flip flop shoes! It turned out so cute. I made each person a kit to put together and many of them choose to take theirs home to work on...hope to see the finished projects soon! Here is mine to share, now all I have to do is add some photos!

I have so much more to share, but will save it for future posts. I have already started working on cards for my group for next month's get together! I was so excited about the theme I wanted to start early!!!
I am enjoying several days at home this week, spending the time crafting when I really need to get things done for cheerleading...but I am just not really interested in that! Maybe tomorrow I will get to that work!
In other news, my hubby is on the job hunt...his company has been hit by the economy and they are closing their doors...so sad! He has been there for 11 years! He has several interviews lined up and many look promising, only problem is 2 of them are in Columbus...I really don't want to move, but know that we have to go where the job is! Keep us in your daily prayers that he find something wonderful!
Gotta run, life is happening and I am letting it pass me by!!!

I have a senior!!!

Just wanted to share a few of my daughter's senior photos from her session with a local photographer. They are beautiful and I chose to order the cd of the entire session so that I have the freedom to do what I want with the photos. Can't decide which one is my favorite, I have 111 to choose from!!! Here is just a sampling of the photos that were taken.
I know it has been a long time since my last post, but life is hectic as usual. I went out of town for a work trip and just can't seem to get back into the groove of things at home. I will soon be back to normal and trying to post more than once or twice a month...of course I still don't know if I have any readers, think I am doing this as sort of a journal of my life happenings, hey that is okay too!!!
This weekend is another trip with the girls, it has been planned for awhile and as it gets closer I am starting to dread it more, not that I don't want to go, just that I really want to be home!!! It's a beach trip so I should just have fun and not worry! I promise I will try!!! Gotta get to my errands for the day!

Graduation!

Just thought I would share some of my latest cards that I made over the weekend for all my daughters friends. I got the inspiration for this card from somewhere on the internet, if I could remember I would give credit, but it is not an exact copy so it is just slightly similar.
Below is a mini paper bag purse album that I made as a gift for one of my daughter's friends, I included photos that span the last 12 years they have been friends...I made 2 others that are just paper bag albums but I forgot to take photos of them! UGH!
The past several weeks have been so busy and hectic...I am definitely glad that summer vacation is beginning! We have a few plans but for the most part we are spending the summer at home enjoying being here! I do have 2 beach trips planned, one for work next weekend and the next one with my Girl Scouts for our last big trip before 3 of them head to college! As a family we will be spending time at our camper, we were suppose to go to San Francisco but plans fell through for that trip, oh well, maybe next Summer!
I have been spending some time this week just relaxing and catching up on TV shows, I am sad because over the summer there is not much on TV to watch...but it does force me to spend some time outdoors...of course it has been raining so much we can't do that!
I am usually doing some gardening and planting this time of year, but I have just not been in the mood this year...finances are not overflowing so I am opting to not plant many annuals, actually I haven't decided if I will plant any this year..sad but true! I just need some grass to grow in my yard...we have 3 bradford pear trees and they provide great shade, but Bermuda grass cannot survive in the shade so now we mow dirt...it is lovely...gotta make a plan to grow some grass!!!
I think I should focus my attention this year on grass and not flowers...of course the flowers are much prettier! Wish me luck, I have such a hard time growing stuff in the south, it was much better when I lived in England.
Gotta get back to the family, they are hovering over me wanting my attention!

Warning, lots of layouts

I decided that I would just share all the rest of my layouts that I have been doing over the course of the last month since spring break...if I don't go ahead and post them I never will get any time. Plus I have more to share and prom photos so that will be later in the week. Enjoy!
